General McChrystal had his current assessment of the tactical situation of Afghanistan on the President's desk since the end of June of this year. As of this date, the
President hasn't made a decision on what to do, if anything, about McChrystal's report. As a retired combat veteran myself, I have often wondered how many of our
troops would be alive today since then or unhurt by enemy action if they had been supported as General McChrystal recommends?
